10/9/2025 Ramallah Municipality participates in the grant of the training course "Archive Management and Emergency Response Strategies in Palestine, Lebanon and the World of the South", which extended over the course of eight weekly meetings through the Archive Gathering.
As part of the "Fight against Cultural Genocide"
project, the third phase of this course will be held at the beginning of 2026,
noting that the first phase was held in April 2025,
and preparations are being made for the advanced course in physical and digital archiving later.

The Archive Gathering Delegation Visits the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Ramallah
20/8/2025 A delegation from the Archival Gathering / Palestine visited the headquarters of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman to the Palestinian National Authority in Ramallah.
On the occasion, the delegation of the Gathering welcomed the Assistant Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman, Mr. Saif Al-Salti, on the occasion of assuming his new duties as Deputy Ambassador, who recently began his duties.
The visit was an occasion during which they discussed issues of common interest, and the prospects of cooperation between the archival and documentary sector in Palestine and the Sultanate of Oman in the field of exchanging knowledge and experiences in order to enhance the preservation of identity and societal memory in Palestine.
It is noteworthy that the delegation of the Archival Gathering included: Mr. Khaled Awad, President of the Gathering, Mr. Omar Al-Khatib, the General Coordinator of the Gathering, the Priest Hosni Al-Samari, and Professors: Nader Galal, Abdullah Omar. The Archival Gathering discusses with (Meethaq) ways of cooperation and integration between them

The Archival Gathering / Palestine discussed with the Foundation for the Revival of Islamic Heritage and Research – Jerusalem (Meitaq) on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, ways of cooperation, integration and exchange of experiences in order to serve the two institutions and documentation and archiving issues in Palestine.
The delegation of the Archival Gathering was received by the Dean of the Charter, Mr. Mahmoud Al-Ashqar, the Director General of Research and Studies, Mr. Saeed Dadou, the Director of the Library and Manuscripts, Mr. Khaled Alayan, the Director of the Records Department, Mr. Basma Al-Abbasi, and the Director of Public Relations and Media, Mr. Nidal Rabaa.
The Dean of the Charter, Mr. Al-Ashqar, welcomed the visiting delegation and expressed his happiness, stressing that this meeting will open new horizons for cooperation and joint work, considering that this meeting with the Gathering constitutes an essential station towards building partnerships that contribute to preserving the national heritage and preserving our history from being lost and distorted.
"Our goal is to make these archives available to researchers and academics in the easiest and fastest way, and to strengthen joint efforts with national and archival institutions to preserve the Palestinian memory for future generations and promote our national narrative," he said.
For its part, the delegation of the Archival Gathering, which included the President of the Gathering, Mr. Khaled Awad, the Coordinator, Mr. Omar Al-Khatib, Mr. Abdullah Omar, and Ms. Yara Abu Dahoud, expressed its thanks to the Meethaq Foundation for the warm reception, and said, "We thank the Meethaq Foundation for this great welcome, as we saw the spirit of cooperation and readiness to build an important network of cooperation and integration on the path of a real partnership that preserves the Palestinian memory and serves future generations."
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to develop cooperation between the two sides, mechanisms for exchanging experiences and knowledge in the field of electronic archiving and the preservation of historical and national documents, and the possibility of launching joint projects in the field of electronic archiving.
During the hours of the visit, the delegation of the Archive Gathering toured the various departments and departments of the Foundation, briefed on the Foundation's archives, archival work systems and technical programs adopted by Meethaq in the management and preservation of documents and the service of its patrons.

Yesterday evening, Thursday, the Archival Gathering/Palestine hosted the expert in photo archiving, Mr. Ahmed Obeid from the Arab Republic of Egypt, in a special meeting as part of the experience exchange program entitled: "Photo Archive and its Role in Preserving Memory".
During the meeting, Mr. Obeid reviewed in a systematic and practical manner the most prominent standards and techniques used in archiving images and their role in preserving community and national memory, providing practical examples and applicable recommendations.
The meeting witnessed a wide interaction and valuable participation from members and colleagues from several countries, which opened new horizons for the gathering and gained new members with experience and achievement in this field.
The visit of the delegation of the Archival Gathering to the Samaritan Museum - Gerizim - Nablus
10/8/2-25 A delegation from the Archives/Palestine Gathering visited the Samaritan Museum on Sunday.
The delegation, headed by Mr. Khaled Awad, President of the Association, received the Director of the Museum, Priest Hosni Al-Samari.
During the meeting, the delegation of the Archival Gathering discussed ways of joint cooperation and the Museum's joining the Archive Gathering, and working to enhance efforts to preserve, document and highlight the Samaritan heritage, as it is the authentic and unique Palestinian component around the world.
The participants in the meeting stressed the need to highlight the presence of this heritage on the Palestinian and international scene.
The delegation of the Archival Gathering included Mr. Omar Al-Khatib, General Coordinator of the Association, and members of the Gathering, Mr. Abdullah Omar, Chairman of the Projects Committee, Gamal Taha, President of the Al-Sabat Association, and Mr. Bechara Mahshi, Member of the Association's Administrative Board, in addition to the presence of Mrs. Salwa Al-Samri, Director of International Relations, Eng. Nahla Salous, Supervisor of the website, and Wafa Turabi, Curator at the Museum.
The meeting discussed a number of important priorities and proposals, most notably working on documenting a group of artifacts, organizing meetings and workshops with specialists in the field of archiving and heritage preservation, in addition to building cooperation relations with institutions and centers that support cultural and knowledge exchange in the world, and working to spread Samaritan heritage through digital platforms and conferences.
The delegation toured the corridors and sections of the museum, during which they were briefed on its various exhibits that reflect the history of the Samaritan community and its religious and cultural heritage.
During the meeting, Pastor Hosni reviewed the role played by the museum in spreading Samaritan culture locally and internationally, highlighting his writings that document the Samaritan novel and preserve its authentic heritage.
At the end of the visit, he signed the request for the museum to join the archival gathering, while confirming the continuation of work to implement the ideas put forward in order to serve the common goals of the two parties.

24/72025: As part of the Gathering's Archival Program for the Exchange of Experiences, the Gathering hosted Mr. Yasser Kaddoura, a member of the Gathering, in a meeting entitled "The Family Archive and the Palestinian Novel", to present to the attendees the success story and achievement of the Identity Foundation since 2008.
The presentation and discussion focused on the importance of paying attention to and highlighting the family/home archive
and the interest in the Palestinian man and not only in geography
, as well as the need to learn and benefit from the intense interest in political employment in the use of family history and the family tree in the Western world and Israel, and the use of the family tree and genealogy.
The use of DNA genetic maps
and the importance of employing it in the national
dimension
may summarize the work of the Identity Foundation in documenting, highlighting, benefiting and building on previous efforts. As well as providing the following
: 1- The family tree as evidence in order to stabilize the generation and grandparents and their roots in Palestine and link them to their country of origin in Palestine,
2- Documenting the oral history of the Nakba contemporaries (more than one thousand and two hundred interviews)

4- The Personal and Family Documents Platform (collecting and making available them),
where the work focuses on the human dimension in bringing families together and providing evidence that binds them in their identity and their towns of origin

Meeting on "The Palestinian Archive between Agreement and Achievement"
The Archival Gathering hosted an important meeting of 26 experts from the Gathering from inside and outside Palestine, in addition to the participation of a group of Arab experts from Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Riyadh.
The meeting focused on an important title: "The Palestinian Archive between Agreement and Achievement", where the experiences of Palestinian documentation and archiving institutions, such as the Palestinian Research Center in Beirut, which was a pioneer in building the Palestinian national memory, were reviewed. The great achievements of these institutions were also highlighted, in addition to the reasons for the failure of some of them and lessons that can be drawn to avoid mistakes from previous experiences in this field.

Meeting on "The Palestinian Archive between Agreement and Achievement"
This afternoon, a delegation from the Archives Gathering paid a farewell visit to Mr. Cengiz R. Oğlu, Director General of Yunus Imre Centers in Palestine. On the occasion of his assumption of a position outside Palestine. The General Coordinator of the Gathering, Mr. Omar Al-Khatib, and the member of the Gathering, Mr. Ihab Suleiman, participated in the visit. The delegation expressed its deep thanks and appreciation to Mr. Cengiz for his efforts and contributions with Dr. Abdel Qadir Satih, the head of the Center in Ramallah, in supporting the Palestinian archival sector and the Archive Cluster in terms of efforts, expertise, consultations, and the provision of training grants to access and translate the archive codes and Ottoman records in Palestine. This is an important impact that contributes to the validation and strengthening of the Palestinian narrative and Palestinian history.

The Palestinian Archival Gathering – Palestine strengthens cooperation with the Land Authority to protect the national documentary heritage Ramallah, 11 May 2025 – A delegation from the Palestinian Archival Gathering, headed by researcher Mr. Khaled Awad, the General Coordinator of the Gathering, Mr. Omar Al-Khatib, the President of the Al-Sabat Association for the Preservation of Culture and Heritage, Mr. Jamal Taha, and the Media Spokesperson of the Gathering, Mr. Ali Al-Zughair, held a meeting with His Excellency the President of the Land Authority, Mr. Alaa Al-Tamimi, in the presence of Mr. Abdullah Omar, Director General of the Archives at the Land Authority and the representative of the Archives at the Land Authority. The meeting focused on strengthening joint cooperation in the field of protecting Palestinian documentary heritage, and developing mobile archiving and preservation policies with high professional standards. The two parties agreed that the Land Authority will be a strategic partner in the digital archiving projects led by the Community, through the implementation of a pilot initiative within one of its facilities, aimed at protecting real estate and historical documents, and strengthening national identity by preserving the Palestinian memory. Mr. Awad stressed that this initiative is a first step towards building an integrated national archival system, which contributes to documenting and preserving Palestinian history for future generations.

The Archival Gathering – Palestine Signs a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Department of Refugee Affairs to Enhance the Documentation of National Memory and the Rights of Refugees
Ramallah – 2 July 2025 – In a strategic step towards protecting the Palestinian national narrative and documenting the history of refugees, the Archival Gathering – Palestine signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Department of Refugee Affairs of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), which aims to consolidate cooperation in preserving collective memory and promoting the historical and political right of refugees, foremost of which is the right of return.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Gathering by its Chairman, Researcher Khaled Awad, and on behalf of the Department of Refugee Affairs, Undersecretary of the Department, Mr. Anwar Hamam, on behalf of the Head of the Department, Minister Dr. Ahmed Abu Houli, who was unable to attend due to the death of his brother, as the delegation of the Gathering offered its condolences during the signing ceremony.
Researcher Khaled Awad stressed that this cooperation is a qualitative leap in the field of archiving and documentation, and comes at a sensitive time when the Palestinian narrative is subjected to systematic attempts to distort and obliterate, stressing that the protection of national memory is not a cultural luxury, but a national duty and a tool of struggle that fortifies the political rights of Palestinian refugees.
He added: "We at the Archival Gathering – Palestine believe that oral narratives, property, and documents are tools to prove rights, not just historical evidence, and are today at the heart of our fight for justice and the right of return."
The memorandum of cooperation stipulates the implementation of documentation projects within the camps, the archiving of oral narratives and property, the organization of training workshops and archival exhibitions, the preparation of professional manuals and standards in documentation, in addition to the development of digital tools for the dissemination of the Palestinian narrative on a large scale.
Awad stressed the importance of unifying national efforts in this field, expressing his pride in this partnership with Wazana Foundation as the Department of Refugee Affairs, stressing that joint work is the real guarantor of preserving the Palestinian narrative in the face of campaigns of obliteration and denial.
The signing was attended by Mr. Omar Al-Khatib – General Coordinator, Mr. Abdullah Omar, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Azza. On the part of the Department of Refugee Affairs: Mr. Asmaa Salima, Mr. Bassam Al-Wahidi, Mr. Hosni Saabneh, Mr. Abdel Karim Al-Ajrami, and Mr. May Odeh.
At the end of the meeting, the two parties stressed that this MoU constitutes the beginning of a long-term partnership that aims to protect Palestinian history from oblivion, and to enable generations to possess knowledge and awareness related to their roots and inalienable historical rights.
