The Archival Gathering / Palestine discussed with the Foundation for the Revival of Islamic Heritage and Research – Jerusalem (Meitaq) on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, ways of cooperation, integration and exchange of experiences in order to serve the two institutions and documentation and archiving issues in Palestine.
The delegation of the Archival Gathering was received by the Dean of the Charter, Mr. Mahmoud Al-Ashqar, the Director General of Research and Studies, Mr. Saeed Dadou, the Director of the Library and Manuscripts, Mr. Khaled Alayan, the Director of the Records Department, Mr. Basma Al-Abbasi, and the Director of Public Relations and Media, Mr. Nidal Rabaa.
The Dean of the Charter, Mr. Al-Ashqar, welcomed the visiting delegation and expressed his happiness, stressing that this meeting will open new horizons for cooperation and joint work, considering that this meeting with the Gathering constitutes an essential station towards building partnerships that contribute to preserving the national heritage and preserving our history from being lost and distorted.
"Our goal is to make these archives available to researchers and academics in the easiest and fastest way, and to strengthen joint efforts with national and archival institutions to preserve the Palestinian memory for future generations and promote our national narrative," he said.
For its part, the delegation of the Archival Gathering, which included the President of the Gathering, Mr. Khaled Awad, the Coordinator, Mr. Omar Al-Khatib, Mr. Abdullah Omar, and Ms. Yara Abu Dahoud, expressed its thanks to the Meethaq Foundation for the warm reception, and said, "We thank the Meethaq Foundation for this great welcome, as we saw the spirit of cooperation and readiness to build an important network of cooperation and integration on the path of a real partnership that preserves the Palestinian memory and serves future generations."
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to develop cooperation between the two sides, mechanisms for exchanging experiences and knowledge in the field of electronic archiving and the preservation of historical and national documents, and the possibility of launching joint projects in the field of electronic archiving.
During the hours of the visit, the delegation of the Archive Gathering toured the various departments and departments of the Foundation, briefed on the Foundation's archives, archival work systems and technical programs adopted by Meethaq in the management and preservation of documents and the service of its patrons.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of continuing communication and coordination, and opening new horizons for cooperation in a way that contributes to strengthening national efforts aimed at protecting and preserving the Palestinian memory for future generations, and promoting the Palestinian narrative and its pure truth.
